Battlefield Choir Spring Program Ad Sale
We are selling ads to cover the cost of printing our spring show program and also to allow our student to raise money to cover their choir expenses.
We ecourge each student to sell $25 of ads to cover the program cost. Any amount over the $25 will be shared with the student. 50% of those sales will be credited to the student’s fundraising account.
The student that sells the most ads will receive $100 Amazon gift card. 2nd place will receive a $50 gift card!
Ads and all payments are due no later than Saturday, April 18th .

Tradition of Excellence
Under the direction of Mr. Douglas Burney, Battlefield High School features six choirs. Varsity Men's Choir, Men's Choir, Bella Voce, Donna Coro, Bel Canto and Battlefield Singers. The 2019-2020 School Year promises to be another great year. Our first performance of the year will be th Pyramid Concert, October 17th. Mark your calendars now!

Message From Mr. Burney, Choir Director
Welcome to another exciting year in the BHS Choral Department! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the fantastic students that have chosen to be part of the “Tradition of Excellence.” The program currently consists of 280 students singing in 6 choirs. These choirs consistently receive superior ratings at the district, regional and national levels in both performance and sight reading. The choirs also participate in many community-based performances throughout the year. Through these experiences and performance opportunities, it is my hope that each student becomes a well-rounded and knowledgeable musician, and I hope it helps create a life-long love of music!

Join the Boosters
Do you want to get involved with fellow parents in support of our wonderful choral program at Battlefield High School? Battlefield Choral Boosters meet each month to coordinate activities and organize events that support Battlefield Choirs. Previews of upcoming activities are provided. Meetings take place the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the choir room at Battlefield High School. All are welcome!
Excellence in Music
The 2018-2019 school year was an amazing success! Not only did our students perform in our regularly scheduled concerts, but they also gave an many inspiring performances throughout the Manassas/Haymarket communities They finished the year with wonderful performances at District Assessment, where all choirs received superior ratings in both Concert Performance and Sight Reading. And, due to all three blue ribbon groups (Band Orchestra, Choir) receiving superior ratings in Concert Performances and Sight Reading, the music department was awarded the prestigious VMEA Blue Ribbon designation. Further- all THREE top ensembles in the music department (and all three older groups in the choir department- Bel Canto, Battlefield Singers, Men's Choir) were grade 6 ensembles(highest grade in the Commonwealth of Virginia).
